Restoration
When
the painting of the mill in 2000 was about to
commence, rot was found in the bearing wood
constructions.
As a result, the current
Mill Committee was established in 2001. The
committee drafted a plan for a thorough
restoration. The Mill Committee found it
important that professionals carried out the
restoration work.
The restoration has been carried out between
2004 and 2008, and is financed by foundations,
local companies and individuals, as well as the
Mandø Association.
The restorations have been so profound that the
mill, now fully functional, will be able to
grind grain again.
